Conscious of the need to conserve the environment for a sustainable future, we are reducing our carbon footprint via numerous initiatives including energy savings and minimizing the use of paper. Our employees and suppliers/partners play a big role in all our Corporate Responsibility initiatives. Indeed, our suppliers/partners have a huge impact in our sustainability as a corporate organization and we acknowledge their valuable contribution and support.

Sustainable procurement is defined as: “a process whereby organisations meet their needs for goods, services, works and utilities in a way that achieves value for money not only for the organisation, but also towards society and the economy, whilst minimising damage to the environment.”

e-Procurement and all that it embraces in terms of e-supplier registration, e-Purchase Order, online Goods Receipt Note (GRN), e-invoicing, e-auctions, use of P-cards and the market place would have brought about some improvements in terms of efficiency, cost savings related to using less volume of paper/number of envelopes, faxes, stamps etc. and this can in turn contribute to associated environmental improvements.

Maybank looks to our existing and new suppliers to support us in this environmental consideration by helping to reduce wastage and supporting electronic modes in all instances. The collective efforts of all Maybank suppliers will certainly have a positive impact to the environment.
